APDL - Porto de Leixoes

Supplier information - More information with less processing time

The Challenge

The challenge proposed to Allos was to develop a solution that would significantly reduce the time spent in the introduction and processing of supplier invoices and fuel data. It was also necessary to reduce to residual levels the existence of insertion errors, guaranteeing data consistency and accuracy.

Port of Leixoes is the second largest artificial port of Portugal, representing 25% of Portuguese international trade, handling around 14 million tons of goods per year and about 3,000 ships passing through annually.

The solution

APDL started to use ALLOS to optimize the upload of communications and fuel bills, and the entire process is managed by business users. The users retrive the information from the supliers websites and after ALLOS validates the data placed in the spreadsheet, the user, with a single click, sends all the information into SAP, from its own user, maintaining all the system security.

A significant reduction of the processing time (60%) and a greater detail of the information present in the system was achieved, being possible to work with information previously impossible to obtain, such as detailed cost allocation to each individual. The interface is controlled entirely by the business users, without IT intevention, who can easily manage all the eventual interface errors.
